A recent cost-effective commercial interiors project in Warrnambool, designed to enhance functionality and warmth for South West Mind and Body. The client needed additional workspaces for a variety of allied health professionals and a welcoming waiting area that catered to a diverse range of users.

As architects serving the Surf Coast and Great Ocean Road, we approached this project with the same philosophy as our coastal homes: prioritizing natural light, acoustics, and human comfort.

Creating a Welcoming Healthcare Environment By integrating a soft, natural material palette, we created a space that avoids the sterile feel of typical medical clinics. Instead, it offers the warmth and calm of a sustainable sanctuary:

• Cork Ceilings: Selected for their sustainability and acoustic properties, absorbing sound while adding texture.

• Linen Curtains: Provide privacy, softness, and flexible spatial divisions.

• Timber Floors: Restored existing flooring to maintain character and continuity.

The result is a seamless blend of comfort, acoustics, and versatility—proving that commercial architecture can be just as inviting as a residential home.
