SOUTH WARRNAMBOOL
This dilapidated Victorian weatherboard home (circa. 1910) undergoes a transformative restoration and extension. The mission here was to rediscover the original home’s historic charm, which had been butchered by a bad-taste 1980s refurb, while embracing modern functionality in the extension to achieve a comfortable and environmentally high performing home.
Situated in the historic portside suburb of South Warrnambool, we peeled back layers of decay to restore and improve the original design intent of this inviting family home. Improving its thermal performance through insulation and high quality windows, we have restored the original four rooms of this home to its former beauty. At the back we have created a warm, open and inviting renovation comprising of a new kitchen, living, dining, master bedroom plus ensuite, main bathroom and laundry. The garden, designed by Creo Muuto, softly infiltrates the home at each window with a special aspect of garden courtyards attached to the bathroom and ensuite.
