Situated in East Warrnambool, a stone’s throw from the Southern Ocean, Patricia is a three bedroom certified Passive House. The challenge of this project was to achieve an environmentally high-performing family home on a modest budget and we feel delighted in the result. Strategically placed triple glazed windows, a tightly sealed building envelope and high-performance insulation create a house specific ecosystem that maintains a comfortable temperature of 22 degrees all year round. So, while her neighbours rattle with the icy Antarctic winds in winter or sweat it out amidst an infamous Victorian heatwave, Patricia maintains her equilibrium.
