This new single-storey extension has been designed to improve the home’s functionality and respond to the evolving needs of a growing family. A strong connection between the old and new encourages interaction while allowing for passive surveillance of outdoor areas. The original interwar house, in excellent condition, has been thoughtfully respected throughout the design process. The extension follows the natural contours of the site, drawing in northern light to create warm, inviting living spaces, while deep eaves provide protection from the summer sun. Though contemporary in form, the addition has been carefully designed to complement the character of the existing home.
